You only have eight weeks of college left, so you should have started your revision by now. Remember that you have three units:
MED1
This is the 'unseen' exam. You will be shown a video clip three times and will then have to write an essay analysing it. You have to show off your knowledge of the Key Conceptst and also relate what you are given to other media texts that you have seen and issues in society.
MED2
In this exam there will be four sections each with two questions. We have not studied British Newspapers or Documentary so you should not try to write essays on these topics! You need to write one essay on Advertising and Marketing and the other essay on Film and Broadcast Fiction. Specific adverts/films/TV programmes wil not be mentioned in the questions. You must know at least one advertising campaign (series of adverts) in detail. You also need to know at least two films and two TV programmes.
MED3
This was your coursework unit. Your work should have been submitted by now, so you don't need to worry about it!

Coca Cola advertising
You need to ensure that you can discuss Coke's advertising campaigns in your MED2 exam. You will be shown three videos in class about Coca Cola:
1. The Money Programme: Coke's Water Bomb (330) (About Dasani)
2. The Money Programme: Coke on the Rocks (330)
3. Dispatches: Mark Thomas on Coca Cola
These videos will be returned to the library after use, so you can watch them there to make additional notes if necessary.
You will also be given a handout from the September 2005 issue of Media Magzine about how to analyse a Coca Cola advert.
You can see Coca Cola adverts from 1914 to the present day at:
http://www.pinballrebel.com/game/cola/ads/coke/coke.htm
(What you need to bear in mind is that many of these are American!)
To read more about the negative side of Coke's image, see these websites:
http://www.killercoke.org/
http://www.coopamerica.org/programs/rs/profile.cfm?id=204
What you need to do now is research Coca Cola advertising campaigns. You need to select a specific recent campaign and post your findings as a comment to this post. You should include the web address of any sites that you have used.
